Harvey's page
A Jack Russell X . Beautiful brown soulful eyes and big ears! Cheeky, bright boy, who was full of life, love and loyalty.
I rescued Harvey from Battersea Dogs and Cats Home when he was only 6 months in 2006.
Becoming a dog owner opened up a whole new world for me. It was the best decision I have ever made. It changed my life for the better - you could say Harvey and I rescued each other!
Harvey gave me purpose and enriched my life in countless ways. I learned so much from him. We loved our walks. He would run like a bullet, jump in the long grass, chase the ball and the squirrels, have a mad moment in the leaves, jump in puddles, roll in the mud and swim at any given opportunity - you just could not keep him out of the water! He made me laugh so much!
A sensitive soul, he just wanted to please and he became very affectionate. Little Harves also got along brilliantly with my friends and my family. Everyone loved Harvey! He was such a cheeky little JRT!
The bond between Harvey and I was very strong. It seemed he understood my thoughts, he knew if I was happy or sad. His love was unconditional, he was my constant, my loyal protector, my soul doggie.
Last year when Harvey was 14, he was diagnosed with a very rare, aggressive cancer. After some time, I had to let him go - I could not see him suffer. It was the most difficult thing I have ever had to do. It was heartbreaking. There isn’t a day that goes by where I don’t think of him.
I take solace in remembering the fourteen wonderful years we had together, and just how fortunate I have been to have had this beautiful dog in my life!
I am eternally grateful to Battersea Dogs and Cats home. Thank you for the amazing good work you do!
